Perun Hardware Link (HwLink)
============================

The main purpose of the ``PowerDesk`` software suite is to enable direct communication with appropriate hardware devices. We call this central and fundamental part of our software **Hardware Link**, or **HwLink**.

Various functionalities of **HwLink** are integrated into different components of **PowerDesk**. For example, different functionality related to the actual underlying hardware devices can be accessed through :ref:`projectExplorer`, :ref:`tagExplorer`, or :ref:`diagnosticsPane`.

In this document, we focus on the overall procedure for connecting to and communicating with ``LARA-100`` devices.
